British Fashion Council Shortlists & Details

Presenter and journalist Mariella Frostrup(above) will host this year’s British Fashion Awards on Tuesday, 25th November 2008 at Lawrence Hall, Westminster.

Organised by the British Fashion Council and supported by Swarovski the evening is attended by over 500 industry leaders, celebrities, designers, retailers, models and journalists to celebrate the best of British fashion. The Awards are judged by a committee of top fashion media, retailers and influencers, which is chaired by Lucy Yeomans, editor of Harper’s Bazaar.

Mariella’s unique voice can usually be heard on the BBC but she will be leaving the airwaves for the night to recognise and reward outstanding British fashion talent – the most glamorous of the cultural industries. On presenting the awards she said ‘I am thrilled to be playing a part in this year’s British Fashion Awards which recognise both new talent and careers that have spanned a life-time. What better excuse to get dressed up than when you are among fashion’s elite.’
